Bob's Hooch House & Speakeasy Georgia Ensemble Theatre Fundraiser Announced Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), the professional nonprofit theatre company in Roswell, is throwing a huge bash on Saturday, October 13, 2018, for its annual fundraiser. They are creating their own 1920s Speakeasy for this special night, so it's all very hush-hush (wink).

"We're throwing a fundraiser party like never before", says GET Marketing Director Michael Van Osch, "and the interest from people who want to attend is bigger than we imagined. The response from the community has been amazing."

Named Bob's Hooch House & Speakeasy in honor of GET's co-founder Bob Farley, the event will take place in a secret Roswell location and require a password to get in, just like a typical speakeasy during Prohibition. Ticket buyers will receive an email 48 hours prior to the event giving them the secret details on where to go and what to say to gain access to the party.

GET Board President and event co-chair Karen Pilcher said, "Attendees are encouraged to dress as gangsters or flappers and come ready to party like it's illegal for a great cause. We're so fortunate to have this wonderful professional theatre right here, and the work they do for the arts, for children and for our economy are worth supporting."

This open bar event will feature many local bars & companies onsite, each kicking in with their own specialty cocktails and bartenders. These include The Whiskey Project, 1920 Tavern, Variant Brewing, Vino 100 and Cathead Vodka, plus of course a special place for some bathtub gin.

A gangster-style Italian buffet is generously provided by local restaurants that've also jumped on board to be a part of Bob's Hooch House & Speakeasy. Bringing their fare are: Osteria Mattone, Lucky's Burger & Brew, Lucia's Italian Restaurant, The Grub Gastro Pub, Standard At Roswell, Alpine Bakery, Rhodes Bakery and more.

Besides a "Black Market" silent auction offering one-of-a-kind experiences, and of course lots of wine and spirits, GET's event will also feature some rip-roaring live music from singers such as India Tyree, Lisa Manuli and Christopher Kent backed by an accomplished jazz trio. If that's not enough, partygoers will have a chance to learn the Charleston, and for those who like to play the odds, there's roulette, black jack and craps.

Capping off the night will be a live auction featuring African Safaris, sunny getaways and some other very special items. Of course it's all to benefit Georgia Ensemble Theatre, their children's camps and arts education, and keeping the arts alive and well in North Fulton. GET is hoping to make this their biggest event ever. Marketing Director Van Osch added, "Our Board of Trustees and staff have really come together to make this event great; I predict we'll sell out. And if folks like it, who knows maybe we'll do it again next year."
