The Fox Theatre announced today the official movie lineup for the 2016 Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival held at the Fox Theatre, including the Opening Night selection "Purple Rain" this Saturday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. Fans are invited to join in celebrating the legacy of Prince, as the date marks exactly one month since his legendary performance at the Fox Theatre. Special guest organist, Atlanta Hawks' famed Sir Foster, will be commanding Mighty Mo for an exclusive pre-show Prince tribute. The Fox Theatre will glow purple, as audiences will receive complimentary purple glow sticks on a first come, first serve basis.

Throughout the summer, modern and vintage movie classics will be shown on Fox Theatre's 26-foot high x 56-foot-8-inch wide big screen, and patrons will enjoy movies under the "stars" with Fox Theatre's distinct blue sky with twinkling stars and fluffy clouds. For select showings, Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival offers guests a magical pre-show experience that includes a sing-along with a vintage cartoon and the world renowned Mighty Mo organ.

Closing Night's Fan Favorite offers Fox Theatre's guests the opportunity to end the 2016 festival with a cinematic 'bang'! Hosted on the Fox Theatre's Facebook page, fans will be able to vote for their favorite classic, comedic or romantic movie title to return to the big screen. Fans are encouraged to continue to check Facebook.com/TheFoxTheatreAtlanta for movie nominees and voting details.

In addition, Special Movie Tours will be available prior to the noted films, allowing guests to experience guided tours through the projection booth, screening room, celebrity dressing rooms, and the iconic Fox Theatre stage while learning about the history of movie palaces and Mr. William Fox's innovations.
