Congressman John Lewis, Senator Jason Carter Set for Free Roundtable Conversation on RACE Today

By:

Kenny Leon and True Colors Theatre Company invite you to join them for a free panel discussion inspired by the theatre's upcoming production, Race by David Mamet. Join Congressman John Lewis, State Senator and Gubernatorial Candidate Jason Carter, Rabbi Alvin Sugarman, and Atlanta Daily World Publisher M. Alexis Scott who will discuss how issues involving race influence our legal system, and how Americans discuss race in the 21st century.

Moderated by David Vigilante, Senior Vice President of Legal for CNN, the afternoon will consist of a roundtable conversation by our panelists and a Q&A opportunity for the audience.

The conversation will take place today, February 15, 2014 at 12 PM at Druid Hills Presbyterian Church, 1026 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30306. Free and Open to the Public.

ABOUT THE PLAY: Kenny Leon and True Colors Theatre Company are proud to announce the upcoming Atlanta Premiere of David Mamet's Race directed by John Dillon. Race will run from February 25 - March 23, 2014 at Fulton County's Southwest Arts Center located at 915 New Hope Road, Atlanta, GA 30331.

Two high-profile lawyers-one black, one white-are called to defend a wealthy white client charged with the rape of an African American woman, when a new legal assistant gets involved in the case, the opinions that boil beneath explode to the surface. They quickly find themselves embroiled in a complex case where blatant prejudice is as disturbing as the evidence at hand.

In the newest work by the Pulitzer Prize winning author of American Buffalo and GlenGarry Glen Ross, Mamet leaves nothing unsaid in this no-holds-barred suspense story that the Chicago Tribune dubbed "intellectually salacious." The Cast includes Andrew Benator, Neal Ghant, Tiffany Hobbs, and Ric Reitz.

Tickets and information can be found at www.truecolorstheatre.org.
