Aurora Theatre Sets August Programming

What better way to spend the end of summer than with fun-filled activities for the entire family? Aurora Theatre offers events for aspiring actors, comedy enthusiasts and everyone in between. Whether it's laughing along with the hilarious and quick-witted improv groups, chowing down with friends for Pizza and Punchlines or sharing ghost stories of Lawrenceville's spooky past, these summer programs are sure to put a spark in your summertime blues!

August Special Programming

Pizza and Punchlines for Teens -Aurora Theatre Academy

Friday, August 14 from 6-8:30 p.m.

Young adults are the star of the show at Pizza and Punchlines! It's the perfect opportunity to practice improv skills, laugh along with friends and enjoy delicious pizza! Open to middle and high school students, admission includes improv games, technique training and dinner for $25.

Aurora Children's Playhouse

Select Saturday mornings in August at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Aurora Theatre's Children's Playhouse brings together the best children's performers in the region! Beginning this August and running through the school year, families will enjoy a variety of performances! Playhouse tickets are $7, or $50 for 10 performance tickets.

Jive along to the brassy beats of Beale Street in 1950s Memphis, where the birthplace of rock 'n' roll reels in an aspiring R&B DJ, who just happens to be white, to spark change in the deep South. Bringing powerhouse numbers to the suburban Atlanta stage, Aurora Theatre debuts the regional premiere of the hit-musical sensation Memphis, playing July 23- August 30, 2015! A co-production with Theatrical Outfit, this tuneful tale is sure to strike a chord with music lovers of all ages!
