In addition to the camp programs traditionally offered by Aurora Theatre Academy, this summer boasts something brand new, a fully produced musical production for students. Camps and intensives offer student's grades 1-12 a chance to work with seasoned professionals in a fun and supportive environment. All sessions culminate in a performance in one of the Southeast's best venues, Aurora Theatre. Once again, Aurora Theatre Director of Education, Jaclyn Hofmann has assembled an incredible team of teaching artists with professional credits in metro Atlanta's vibrant theatre, film and television industry.

Summer Camp Open House: Tuesday, May 7 from 4:30-6:30pm
Parents and students can now figuratively "kick the tires" of Aurora Theatre Academy's Summer Programs. Prospective campers will get to participate in sample classes, FREE of charge, experience what a day at camp will be like and parents will be able to ask questions as well as tour Aurora Theatre's modern facilities. Light refreshments will be served.

Preparing Students to Perform Like Professionals

Aurora Academy is the best summer theatre program for young people in Northeast Georgia. What distinguishes Aurora Theatre Academy from other summer drama camps is that the instructors are working professionals with years of real-world professional experience. Each session culminates in a performance on the same stages where the pros perform. In addition to receiving training to be a winner onstage, students build confidence, communication and life skills that will be a valuable part of their bright futures.

School House Rock Live! Jr.
New Summer Musical for Grades 3-12
Exciting news! For the first time ever, Aurora Theatre Academy is producing a summer musical! Students will attend three weeks of classes in acting, singing and dancing, as well as rehearse and perform School House Rock Live, Jr! at the end of the session. They will present three performances on the Aurora Theatre Mainstage with live professional musicians. The production will be directed by a veteran of several Aurora Productions Megan Hayes, who recently filmed The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in which she plays Female Morphling Tribute from District 6. Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr. Musical Director Nick Silvestri was named Best Music Director of 2012 by Atlanta Theatre Fans for his work on Sweeney Todd at Fabrefaction Theatre Company where he also served as Education Director. Choreographer Michael Stiggers was chosen as one of three worldwide finalists for Male Performer of the Year in the 2012 Brass Ring Awards presented by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. He will be performing this fall at Aurora in LES MISERABLES. Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr performances are: Friday, June 21 at 11:30am and 4pm and Saturday, June 22at 2pm. Tickets will be available for purchase for the general public.

Camp Aurora for Students Grades 1-5
Camp Aurora gives students the opportunity to spend a week at Aurora where they can learn what it takes to put on a performance. This production class will provide students with valuable stage experience, all while encouraging teamwork and collaboration with peers. The experience instills a sense of self-confidence in our students. In these half-day sessions, students will be active participants in creating portions of the sets, costumes, and props for these exciting, whirlwind productions presented to family and friends.

Aurora Academy Summer Intensive for Middle and High School Students
The Acting Edge camp explores the craft of acting through various styles: Stanislavski, Shakespeare, Acting on Camera, improvisation classes, and more. Both sessions will culminate in a Showcase performance in our Studio Theatre. Whether your teen is a seasoned performer or beginner, they will benefit from the real world experience of our teaching staff.

Located on the square in downtown Lawrenceville, Aurora Theatre is committed to educating young actors in our world-class facility. A summer with us will create memories to treasure for a lifetime.

Scholarships
Through the continued support of Scott Hudgens Family Foundation, Kiwanis Club of Suwanee, Forrestall, Galeano, & Li, CPA, LLC and other generous groups have enable Aurora Theatre Academy to offer over $15,000 for students to have the valuable experience of working honing their craft with seasoned professionals.
