Atlanta Lyric Theatre presents this high flying, family musical June 8-24, 2018. Based on Disney's epic animated musical adventure and Edgar Rice Burrough's Tarzan of the Apes, TARZAN features heart-pumping music by rock legend, Phil Collins, and a book by Tony Award-winning playwright, David Henry Hwang. TARZAN, is famous for its high-flying excitement and hits, like the Academy Award winning "You'll Be in My Heart," as well as "Son of Man" and "Two Worlds." This jungle adventure features invigorating choreography through the air, and sensational feats of theatre magic. An unforgettable experience, TARZAN is a thrilling time at the theatre for the entire family.

In the title role of TARZAN is Atlanta Lyric all-star, Stanley Allyn Owen. He was last seen as Joseph at the Cobb Energy Centre in the Lyric's production of Joseph...Dreamcoat and slinked across the stage as Rum Tum Tugger in CATS. OWEN, is also an alum of the CATS 25th Anniversary Tour and was nominated for a Suzi Bass Award for his performance as Roger in the Lyric's production of RENT. Currently, OWEN is working on an album of original music.

Beloved Lyric favorite, ALISON WILHOLT, returns for her 11th Lyric show in the role of JANE. She was last seen as Dyanne in Million Dollar Quartet. Atlanta audiences will also remember her heart stopping performance as Brenda in Catch Me If You Can and her unforgettable, Suzi Nominated, Elle Woods in Legally Blonde.

The star-studded, multi-cultural cast also features Leslie Bellair (Peter Pan, The Toxic Avenger, Les Miserables) as KALA, Marcus Hopkins-Turner (Once on this Island, Father Comes Home from the Wars), as KERCHAK, rising star and rising junior at the University of Michigan COMMODORE PRIMOUS as TERK and Hayden Rowe (My Fair Lady, Damn Yankees) as CLAYTON.

Director Robert Adams returns to the Lyric after his inspired production of Beauty and the Beast to once again re-imagine the magic of Disney onstage. He is joined by Music Director Chris Brent Davis and choreographer CINDY MORA RISER.

Rounding out the stunning ensemble of dancers, tumblers and vine jumping gymnasts are J. Koby Parker, Amanda Bonilla, Ryan Vo, Jalen Michael Jones, Christopher De'Angelo, Tassy Kirbas, Caleb Peters, Sterling McClary, Remmington Bogdanovich, Lauren Tatum, Ann Marie Meeker, Maya Bowles, and Davon Farmer.

TARZAN, the stage musical, is the final show of the Lyric's 38th Season. Season 39 begins with AIDA in August 2018.
