ZOMBIE Star Bill Connington Appears At Rogers Theater At Metropolitan Museum

Renowned actor Bill Connington joined mezzo soprano Samantha Hankey and pianist Brian Zeger in "Delacroix and Music" recently performed at the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, for a one-night exclusive event, to a sold-out audience.

Connington, an award-winning performer, is known for his turn in the film "Zombie," based on the novella by Joyce Carol Oates. He has two independent feature films entering the film festival circuit currently. Connington read the journals of Delacroix at The Met in a performance that is part of the 2018-19 MetLiveArts series.

Samantha Hankey is an award-winning classical singer who is appearing several times this season at the Metropolitan Opera. She has also appeared in European opera houses. Hankey sang the music of Bizet, Berlioz and Gounod at the performance.

Brian Zeger devised this special performance to play in conjunction with the exhibition Delacroix (on view at The Met Fifth Avenue through January 6, 2019). In addition to narrating the evening, and playing for Hankey, Zeger also played some of Chopin's works in "Delacroix and Music." He is the Artistic Director of the Vocal Arts Department at Juilliard.
