On Wednesday 2 February 2005, 'Live' at the Delfont Room will be launched in spectacular style, with one of the UK's best-loved musical theatre actresses. For one night only, 2 time Olivier Award winning actress Joanna Riding will be joined by 'The Woman In White' star, Martin Crewes to perform an intimate concert. In the Theatregoers' Choice Awards, Crewes has been nominated for Best Actor in a Musical while, for her role in Noel Coward's 'Blithe Spirit' Riding is in the running for Best Actress.

The Prince of Wales Theatre has been gutted and rebuilt by its owner Cameron Mackintosh with the architects, Arts Team at RHWL, at a cost in excess of £7 million, Architect Robert Cromie's original concept for a sleek, sophisticated, deco theatre, like an ocean liner, has now been fully realised and that glamour has been created in full. We are pleased to announce that the glamour of the Delfont Room will now be open after the show has finished. This means an extended audience can now enjoy these delightful surroundings, have a few drinks at realistic prices and be entertained in style. A rare opportunity to see Joanna and Martin up close and personal.

Joanna and Martin will take us on a journey through love lost and found, laughter and sadness through numbers, which incorporate contemporary American Musical Theatre, and some familiar favourites. Joanna and Martin have a very exciting chemistry, so it should prove to be a fabulous launch to this sumptuous new space. Musical Director is Douglas Whyte.

Joanna's other credits include Eliza in My Fair Lady (Theatre Royal Drury Lane), Jane Smart in The Witches of Eastwick (Theatre Royal Drury Lane/Prince of Wales), Julie Jordan in Carousel (RNT & Shaftesbury), Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls (RNT), Bertrande in Martin Guerre (UK Tour), Sally in Me & My Girl (Adelphi), Anne in A Little Night Music (RNT), Maggie in Hobson's Choice (Manchester Royal Exchange), Miss Gossage in The Happiest Days of Your Life (Manchester Royal Exchange).
