This comedic family musical movie tells the story of Troy and Gabriella -- two teens who are worlds apart -- who meet at a karaoke contest and discover their mutual love for music.

Gabriella Montez is a shy, studious new student at East High School; but that all changes when she is forced to sing at a karaoke contest with Troy Bolton, the captain of the school's basketball team. After spending time with each other, both realize they share a passionate love for music and singing. But will they retain this love when their school is telling them they cannot be together?

The Disney Channel's wildly popular "High School Musical" soundtrack reached the top of the Billboard charts and has sold over 142,000 copies. It recently became the first full-length feature film available for purchase on Apple iTunes.

"High School Musical," directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega (the film Newsies, Marilyn: An American Fable), has broken a number of records. First shown on the Disney channel on January 20th, 2005, the movie led to a soundtrack that within seven weeks of its release, climbed to #1 on the Billboard pop chart -- the first time that an original movie TV soundtrack has done so and the first time that a TV soundtrack has made the chart's top spot since 1986's "Miami Vice" soundtrack.
