The Williamstown Theatre Festival has announced its Free Theatre production: Trouble Tales (for boys and girls). The musical, written by Amy Herzog, with music by Kris Kukul and directed by Erick Herrscher, will play the WTF Main Stage from Monday, July 7 through Saturday, July 12.
In Trouble Tales (for boys and girls), Nina's tenth birthday is not going as planned. The cake isn't ready, the most popular guest cancelled and Nina's brother is in the hospital -- again. All seems lost when a mysterious stranger captures the attention of Nina and her friends. This summer's Free Theater explores where "troubles" come from through an imaginative retelling of the Pandora myth. The Williamstown Theatre Festival is also proud to once again produce Kids' Theatre Day on the front lawn of the '62 Center for Theatre and Dance on the campus of Williams College on Saturday, July 12 at 9:30 a.m. Kids' Theatre Day is a free event and is open to the public.Children of all ages can enjoy a morning of theatrical fun with games and projects to help them experience the on and off stage elements involved in theatre production. Activities will be led by the WTF's 2008 Apprentice Company, and include props and costume design, dance and basic staging, among others.
