Michael Riedel of the New York Post has reported on the latest project from the composer of cult hit, Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

The show, titled This Ain't No Disco! is set in the hard-partying disco era and its characters include Steve Rubell, founder of the famous nightclub, Studio 54, which provides the show's setting.

The script by Rick Elice (Jersey Boys), centers on a Queens couple who find themselves tangled up in the world of Studio 54. Through an Andy Warhol-esque character, the girl becomes a pop celebrity. After the boy inherits his childhood home in Forest Hills, he finds himself torn between the party life and a more traditional one.

Will the show hustle its way into New York any time soon? Trip Cullman staged a workshop this week featuring Michael Esper, Lindsay Mendez, and Gideon Glick. Sources close to the workshop reported the presence of more than one Broadway heavy hitter in the house, including John Hart ("Once"), Jeffrey Richards ("Fiddler on the Roof") and Tom Hulce ("Spring Awakening").
