Composer Frank Wildhorn and lyricist Jack Murphy, the team behind the new musical Waiting for the Moon: An American Romance, will make two New Jersey appearances in July to promote the show, which explores the tempestuous marriage of literary legends F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald.

Wildborn and Murphy will appear at the main branch of the Burlington County Library System (5 Pioneer Blvd. in Westampton) at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, July 6th. With the help of a baby grand piano, they will give a preview of Waiting for the Moon's music. They'll offer more tunes during a second appearance at Barnes & Noble (200 W. Route 70 in Marlton) at 7:30 PM on Friday, July 8th, as well as reflecting upon the impact of Fitzgerald's life and works, which include The Great Gatsby, This Side of Paradise, The Beautiful and Damned, Tender is the Night and others.

In 1999, Wildhorn became the first American composer in 22 years to have three shows running simultaneously on Broadway -- Jekyll & Hyde, which received two Tony nominations; The Scarlet Pimpernel, which received four Tony nominations; and The Civil War, which received two Tony nominations. Wildhorn also composed Dracula, The Musical and wrote additional songs for Julie Andrews in Broadway's Victor/Victoria. Murphy has worked on a variety of projects as both lyricist and composer. He has teamed up with Wildhorn to write lyrics for Linda Eder and he has written and performed albums for many record labels including A&M, Verve, MGM, Elektra, Columbia and ABC Dunhill. Murphy collaborated on lyrics for The Civil War, which garnered him a Tony Award nomination for Best Score when it debuted on Broadway. He was back on Broadway again with three songs penned for the hit show, Swing!

Waiting for the Moon: An American Love Story, starring Jarrod Emick (Tony-winner for Damn Yankees, The Boy from Oz) as Scott and Lauren Kennedy (South Pacific in London, Sunset Blvd.) as Zelda, previews July 16th-19th at the Lenape Regional Performing Arts Center in Marlton, with a gala grand opening on July 20th and shows through July 31st. Lenape is producing the musical with Vincent Marini as director.

The Lenape is located at 130 Tomlinson Mill Road in Marlton, New Jersey. Tickets for Waiting for the Moon are $45 and $50. Contact the box office at (856) 983-3366 or visit www.sjtheater.com for information and tickets.
