WICKED's Amanda Rose has joined the cast of the backstage comedy MY SWOLLEN FEET by designer/playwright Carrie Robbins, to be presented at the Hudson Guild Theatre as part of The New York Summerfest Theatre Festival.

Ms. Rose will play the role of Zoey Parnes, a struggling young costume designer who may catch her first big break when theatre legend Jason Gascoigne III summons her to an interview. Two problems: A colossal cold is making it hard for Zoey to drag herself out of bed, and Gascoigne is a legendary eccentric whose curious ways of working could prove her undoing.

Rose played Nessarose in the original Broadway production at the Gershwin Theatre, and in the first national tour directed by Joe Mantello. Rose appeared in HOLIDAY INN, THE NEW Irving Berlin MUSICAL (Linda understudy), and toured with Tommy Tune in DR. DOLITTLE. She played Laurey, and danced the dream ballet, in the first national tour of OKLAHOMA!, choreographed by Susan Stroman. Regionally, Rose also played Louise in the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera production of GYPSY, where BroadwayWorld called her performance "pitch-perfect...It's safe to say that if Amanda Rose's Gypsy Rose Lee was a star today, she'd be an internet darling." She also played Ellen for MISS SAIGON at the Ogunquit Playhouse.

MY SWOLLEN FEET is directed by Paul Dobie who has been the assistant director of several musicals on Broadway, including ONCE, CABARET, and WICKED, and was the Associate Director of Broadway and National tours of Tony award-winning THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE.

Versatile character actor Tony Naumovski (ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK) plays the self-absorbed Jason Gascoigne III and Thomas Leverton (RED - TheatreWorks Hartford) plays a gaggle of quirky characters including the imperious grande dame Angela Thornbry who is not amused by Parnes' wardrobe designs.

MY SWOLLEN FEET will run for three performances only: Tuesday, September 12 at 6:15pm; Saturday, September 16 at 8:30 pm; and Sunday matinee, September 17 at 1:00 pm. All performances will be held at the Hudson Guild Theatre, 441 W. 26th Street (between 9th & 10th Avenues). Tickets are $23 at the door or through Brown Paper Tickets: www.brownpapertickets.com.event/2969863

A one-act, MY SWOLLEN FEET received early development with the 29th St. Playwrights Collective. MY SWOLLEN FEET is an Equity approved Showcase presentation. Produced by Days of the Giants LLC www.daysofthegiants.com.
