And finally, a Happy Birthday shout-out to Andrew Lippa, who turns 50 today!

Lippa has written the music and lyrics for Broadway's Big Fish, The Addams Family (for which he received a Tony nomination), and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. He also wrote the music for The Farnsworth Invention and helped conduct Patti LuPone on Broadway. Before his work on the Great White Way, Lippa started out as a pianist at Goodspeed and other regional theaters. Goodspeed produced his first musical, John & Jen, which went on to an NYC run. Among his other works are The Wild Party, a musical version of A Little Princess and most recently, I Am Harvey Milk, which starred Kristin Chenoweth.
