Video: Rachelle Ann Go Sings for Live-Action Feature CINDERELLA; Movie Opens This Week

By: Mar. 08, 2015

Manila, Philippines--Disney Channel Asia released Saturday, March 7, its latest music video of the iconic "Cinderella" song, "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes," performed by London's West End actress Rachelle Ann Go ("Miss Saigon," Disney's "The Little Mermaid"). A new live-action feature of CINDERELLA, inspired by the 1950 Disney animated film, begins screening in the United States on Friday, March 13, and in the Philippines on Thursday, March 12, released through Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh ("Thor," "Hamlet"), CINDERELLA stars Cate Blanchett (Stepmother), Lily James Ella/Cinderella), Richard Madden (The Prince), and Helena Bonham Carter (beggar woman, Fairy Godmother).

Rachelle Ann, who is originally from Manila, Philippines, began her professional music career after she won the Grand Prize in the reality TV talent search "Search For A Star" 11 years ago. She does concerts in the Philippines and internationally; and has recorded seven top-selling albums. Before flying to London, she appeared regularly on GMA TV Network's musical variety show "Sunday All Stars."

On the theatrical front, Rachelle Ann made her London's West End debut via the 25th anniversary production of Cameron Mackintosh's popular mega-musical "Miss Saigon," where she currently plays the role of the hardened, disillusioned prostitute Gigi Van Tranh.

Additional musical theater credits include Ariel in the Asia Pacific premiere of Disney's "Little Mermaid," produced by Atlantis Productions; Jane Porter in Disney's "Tarzan," produced by Viva Atlantis Theatricals; and the radio singer in the Asia Pacific premiere of "Ghost: The Musical," produced by Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group.
