New York City Veterans Community leaders today announced details for the fourth annual Veterans Week NYC 2015 - an ambitious schedule of events honoring our veterans. On November 11 the Week's marquee event takes place, "America's Parade," the 96th annual New York City Veterans Day Parade, the largest celebration of service in the nation, with participants from all over the U.S. marching up Fifth Avenue.

Today's announcement follows up on the 240th birthday of the U.S. Navy, the featured military branch of the Parade this year.

"Every year Veterans Week NYC serves as the perfect build-up to Veterans Day and America's Parade," said Vince McGowan, Founding President of the United War Veterans Council (UWVC), producers of the Parade. "The amazing lineup of events celebrates and honors, deservingly, the brave men and women, past and present, who serve in the U.S. military. And we still might have a few more surprises in store."

Leading the parade as Grand Marshal is long-time Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau, a World War II Navy veteran who survived attacks by both German and Japanese aircraft. Morgenthau will be joined in the parade by two of his former crewmates.

More than 25,000 participants, including active military members, veterans of every U.S. war since World War II and marching bands from across the nation, will march up Fifth Avenue in what will mark the 96th anniversary of the first Veterans Day Parade in 1919.

Parade sponsors include CHASE, HBO, History Channel, Cushman & Wakefield and UWVC Recycling Program.

The Parade takes place on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11, 2015, from 11:15 AM to 3:30 PM, traveling up New York City's iconic Fifth Avenue from 26th Street to 52nd Street. It will be broadcast live on WPIX-TV 11, Wednesday, November 11, from noon until 3 p.m. and live-streamed on pix11.com and on military.com. Army Medal of Honor recipient from Vietnam and Veterans Advantage Advisory Board Member Paul Bucha will provide on-air commentary for the Parade.

With participants from more than 30 states and the event also being broadcast to military bases around the world and Veterans Administration hospitals across the country, the Veterans Day Parade in New York City truly is "America's Parade."
