The commitment of the Italian region of Puglia and the harmony of music are joined to send the message for peace and hope in the world. That was the objective of the organization Puglia Center of America when it decided to organize a concert-tribute to the United Nations Peacekeeping, in Carnegie Hall, the temple of the world music. The great event will take place on December 14th, at 8 pm, in Carnegie Hall, New York.

The concert includes a performance of the tenor Luciano Lamonarca (international renowned tenor and president of the Puglia Center of America), Soprano Aurora Tirotta (winner of the Accademia La Scala di Milano), Soprano Jessica Rose Cambio (1st Prize in the Licia Albanese Puccini Foundation and the Giulio Gari Foundation), Tenor Enzo Pizzimenti (Versatile Tenor), Pianist Susan Morton and The Peace Trio from Manhattan School of Music "Winners of the 2010-11 Fuchs Chamber Music Competition". The event will be presented by Nancy Dell' Olio, known to the Italian public and founder of Truce International.

Star of the evening will be the world-famous tenor Francisco Casanova.

The event was organized by the Puglia Center of America in cooperation with the BAT Province (Barletta-Andria-Trani) of Puglia and the City of Andria. The Chamber of the Italian Deputies, the Italian Commission of UNESCO and the Commissioner's Office for Culture, Tourism, Peace and the Mediterranean of the Puglia region offered their patronage.

The idea of the Puglia Center of America to dedicate a concert-tribute to the United Nations Department of Peace is based on two reasons: to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations and strengthen the relationships between the United States and the Puglia region, host of the UN Logistics Basis. The intention is to reiterate the concert next year in Puglia, with the aim of supporting the activities of the Peacekeeping Department of the United Nations.

The evening of December 14 in New York represents another step forward in the Puglia Center of America's main goals to strengthen the link between Puglia and the United States of America. A link that is enriched progressively through cultural exchanges. Artists form Puglia and from all over the world come together to share the same goals on the American and international stage.
