The Wonderful Wizard Is Back By Popular Demand

Audiences across the Midlands will be able to follow the yellow brick road once again this Christmas as Birmingham Repertory Theatre brings back its sell-out spectacular stage version of the musical The Wizard of Oz from 30 November to 21 January.

Directed by Rachel Kavanaugh, there'll be no place like The REP this Christmas as Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion skip down the Yellow Brick Road, across the Poppy Field and into the Emerald City in search of the wonderful Wizard of Oz. This epic stage version of the legendary MGM musical features everyone's favourite songs including Somewhere Over The Rainbow, If I Only Had A Brain and Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead.

Jonathan Church, Artistic Director of The REP said;

"Over 50,000 people came to see our production of The Wizard Of Oz two years ago and the reaction to it was fantastic. An added feature this year will be more opportunities for audiences to come along dressed as their favourite Oz character and sing-along on our special Off To Oz nights."

The Wizard of Oz opens at Birmingham Repertory Theatre on 30 November (Press Night - Tuesday 6 May). Off To Oz nights, where people can dress up as their favourite Oz character and sing along, will take place on Friday 9 and Thursday 22 December, Wednesday 4 and Wed 18 January.
