Trinity of Two is about two childhood friends who after decades of no contact find themselves reaching out to each other through the same, disturbing shared dream. In an attempt to figure out the meaning of this, they meet each other in Rome where a young priest attempts to guide them on a tour of the early Christian catacombs. As the tour continues, their shared dreams start taking the place of reality until the line is blurred and their quest for faith becomes unavoidable and all encompassing. Trinity is a visual, poetic and even whimsical odyssey that takes the audience on a globetrotting journey through surrealistic landscapes to its cathartic conclusion of redemption.

"This is not your typical play about women," says director Kelly Gillespie. "It's about two women trying to figure out how to have faith in each other, in themselves, and in the world around them. There's an emphasis on the need for faith outside of a religious context, told, believe it or not, in a very humorous manner."

Playwright Kimberly Megna is the resident playwright of DownTownTheatre Company. Her first full-length play with them was Mao On Line One. She is a two-time finalist for the National Ten-Minute-Play Heidman Award, and had her first ten-minute play produced at the Actors Theatre of Louisville in 2000. Her other plays include 10 AM Thursday, Fatima or Bust, and An Evening Crossword.

Trinity is being directed by Kelly Gillespie. The rest of the artistic team includes Zakaria M. Al-Alami (Lighting), Andrew Boyce (Sets), and Karl A. Ruckdeschel (Costumes). Cast is Amy J. Carle, Shae Kennedy, and John Patrick.

DownTownTheatre Company was formed in New York City in 2002 by Zakaria M. Al-Alami, Samantha Desz, and Juliane Taylor. DTT sets out to create an environment of challenge and artistic daring asking "Why this and why now?" Incredible attention is given to the production value of each show, constantly raising the bar of what is expected and acceptable in an Off-Off roadway environment. The company's first production was On the Open Road by Steve Tesich.
