Four-time Tony Nominee Tovah Feldshuh, currently starring on Broadway in Irena's Vow, will be co-hosting the unprecedented, live broadcast of the Tony Awards in Duffy Square on Sunday, June 7. The Tony Awards has partnered with the Times Square Alliance to simulcast the entire Tony Awards program from Radio City Music Hall, on the Clear Channel Spectacolor Screen in Times Square.

This live broadcast of the Tony Awards, which will include the untelevised Creative Arts Awards (from 7:00-8:00 P.M.) along with the regular Tony Award telecast (from 8:0o-11:00 P.M.), will be one of the first events to take place in the newly re-designed Times Square. Katie McGee, entertainment reporter for WCBS-TV, will also serve as co-host.

The Antoinette Perry "Tony" Awards are bestowed annually on theatre professionals for distinguished achievement. The Tony is one of the most coveted awards in the entertainment industry and the annual telecast is considered one of the most prestigious programs on television.

Irena's Vow, which just celebrated its 100th performance at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street), marks Ms. Feldshuh's first Broadway appearance since her Tony Award-nominated turn in Golda's Balcony (Broadway's longest-running one-woman show).

Irena's Vow is the uplifting true story about one of the most courageous and unsung heroines of World War II. During the German occupation of Poland, Irena Gut Opdyke (Feldshuh), a Polish Catholic, was forced to work as head housekeeper for a very prominent German major. Over a two year period of service, Irena would risk her own life in order to save the lives of twelve Jewish refugees whom she secretly took under her care. Irena's Vow is the extraordinary story of one woman's choice and the twelve lives that would ultimately be saved - or lost - by her decision.
