Tony Award winning actress Lea Salonga and television actor George Takei will star in a staged reading of a new musical Allegiance at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles on July 13th, 2009.

Allegiance is a story of love, loss and heroism during the Japanese American internment and has music and lyrics by Jay Kuo who co-wrote the book with Lorenzo Thione.

The cast also features Broadway's Jose Llana, James Snyder, Michael K. Lee and Enrico Rodriguez as well as LA actors Jennifer Paz and Michael Hagiwara.

The musical is presented by The San Francisco New Theatre Workshop (SFNTW) and it follows their successful run of Jay Kuo's award winning musical comedy Insignificant Others, which completed an 11 month run at San Francisco's Pier 39 in 2008.

The SFNTW also produced a staged reading of Kuo's musical World's Apart at New World Stages in New York in March of this year and is currently in development for a regional run of that musical.7:00 PM - Performance (Free Admission with RSVP)
