On May 28th at 11:30 PM, Broadway and pop star Nellie McKay will perform at Joe's Pub.

McKay currently plays Polly Peachum in the Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of Weill and Brecht's The Threepenny Opera, now playing Studio 54 through June 25th. She is the winner of a recent Theatre World Award for her Broadway debut performance. The revival, directed by Scott Elliott, also features Alan Cumming, Cyndi Lauper and Ana Gasteyer, among others.

"In 2004, Nellie McKay released her double album, 'Get Away From Me,' to critical acclaim. She has since appeared on numerous television and radio shows, toured the world and participated in benefits for groups ranging from Planned Parenthood to Fair Fund to the ACLU and the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. In addition to working on television and film projects, Nellie has also been active in supporting get-out-the-vote efforts and the campaign to close Columbia University's primate laboratories. Her second album, 'Pretty Little Head,' is coming soon to a record store near you," state notes on Joe's Pub's website.
