Theatre of the Stars Announces WHITE CHRISTMAS Auditions, 10/2

By:

Theater of the Stars will hold auditions for girls between the ages of 9-12 years old on Saturday, October 2 beginning at 10:15 am for the upcoming production of Irving Berlin's WHITE CHRISTMAS including the Chicago engagement.  Registration starts at 9:45 a.m.   These auditions are for Actors' Equity and non-Equity actors. Actors' Equity actors will be seen first.  Call backs will take place later in the afternoon.  Auditions will be held at The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, 10 E. Randolph Street, Chicago.

Auditions are for the role of Susan Waverly (the General's granddaughter). There will be two girls sharing this role on the tour and one has already been cast.  The exact performance schedule will be determined.  Interested young actresses between the ages of 9-12 years old who sing well should be prepared to do the following:

Bring one copy of headshot and resume.  Head shots will not be returned and these items are required to audition. Be ready to sing "Let Me Sing And I'm Happy (Reprise)" from the show. An accompanist will be provided.
Please wear comfortable clothing. Please be aware that you may be asked to do a cold reading.

Please note that the child who is selected must participate in all rehearsals and performances.  In order to be cast in the tour of Irving Berlin's WHITE CHRISTMAS the actress must be available from October 11, 2010 through January 2, 2011 and be able to make a commitment for this entire time period.  Tentative schedule includes rehearsals in New York from October 11-23, Tech & Previews in Chattanooga, Tennessee from October 24-31, an engagement in Atlanta beginning November 2, followed by performances in Greenville, Harford, Schenectady, Tampa, Charlotte and Chicago (the tour closes in Chicago).

For more information, or to receive a registration form in advance, please contact Marguerite Daniel at Theater of the Stars at (404) 252-8960 or marguerite@theaterofthestars.com (e-mail is preferred).

The classic holiday tradition White Christmas comes to the stage at last, as a brand new Irving Berlin musical direct from Broadway. Brimming with such Berlin hits as "Blue Skies," "How Deep is the Ocean?" "Sisters," "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep," and of course, the unforgettable title song, Irving Berlin's WHITE CHRISTMAS tells the story of two showbiz buddies putting on a show in a picturesque Vermont Inn, and finding their perfect mates in the bargain. Full of dancing, romance, laughter and some of the greatest songs ever written, Irving Berlin's WHITE CHRISTMAS promises to be a merry and bright experience for the entire family!

Irving Berlin's WHITE CHRISTMAS will play December 15, 2010 through January 2, 2011 at Bank of America Theatre.  Tickets are available at all Broadway In Chicago Box Offices (24 W. Randolph St., 151 W. Randolph St. and 18 W. Monroe St.), the Broadway In Chicago Ticket Line at (800) 775-2000, all Ticketmaster retail locations (including Hot Tix and select Carson Pirie Scott, Coconuts and fye stores), and online at www.BroadwayInChicago.com. For groups of 15 or more, call (312) 977-1710.
