What happens when the heart is ripped out of a community?

Its 1988, Margaret Thatcher's third term in office and manufacturing industry in the UK is in sharp decline. This is Jack's last day in the firm he built up from nothing. The 'Reseal 9'factory was the town's biggest employer, social hub and support. What will happen when it and Jack are gone?

An allegory for the loss of the ties that bind us in society and the effect it has on us now, The Pensive Federation are proud to present the 7th Significant Other, this year at the Vaults under Waterloo Station. Ten writers, 40 actors and 5 assistant directors will be asked to create 10 new individual stories completed within 10 days all combined into one full, immersive play. Significant Other: Inc.

The Significant Other festivals explore relationships and our connections with people. We ask 10 writers to create a 10 minute play in 5 days for 3 actors with this theme, fully supported and dramaturge by the Literary Director, Serena Haywood. The whole piece is directed by Neil J Byden with 5 assistant directors with 5 days to stage it. The standard is astounding for the time taken to produce the piece and is a testament to the producers' skills in organisation and nurturing support. The Pensive Federation is a unique theatre company and has a loyal following like no other.

The Pensive Federation have a shared aspiration in theatre reflecting people like you, situations you may have faced and reflect the ordinary world around you. They are now in their 8th year of bringing their special brand of collectively devised and created theatre to London including the Collective Project, the Significant Other Festival, Rewritten and full length play Square with writer Will Howells. This year brings the innovative full length play Split Screen with writer Rob Greens.
