Acclaimed American cellist Peter Sachon will present his cabaret concert for two performances on Thursday, March 1st and 8th, at 7:00 PM at the Triad Theatre, 158 West 72nd Street in New York City.

The program will include both classical selections and modern pieces composed for him by such Broadway composers as Stephen Schwartz, Ricky Ian Gordon, Jeff Bluemenkrantz, Tom Kitt, and Andrew Lippa plus a rarely-performed song by Bernstein, Comden and Green.  This cabaret concert was originally directed by Tony Award-winning actress, Victoria Clark (The Light in the Piazza).   

He will be joined by Mary Testa (See What I Wanna See, 42nd Street), Michael Winther (Mamma Mia!, Songs from an Unmade Bed) and Sarah Uriarte Berry (The Light in the Piazza, Beauty and the Beast).

Sachon's diverse career has included performances with Audra McDonald, The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Deborah Voight, Victoria Clark, Pink Martini, and Dee Snider.  He performed in and can be heard on the recordings of the Broadway productions of The Light in the Piazza and Fiddler on the Roof (2004 revival).   Mr. Sachon has commissioned and premiered many new works for the cello by such composers as Stephen Schwartz, Stephen Flaherty, Ricky Ian Gordon, Jeff Marx, Michael John LaChiusa , and George Stiles. Sachon received his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music at Mannes College and his Orchestral Performance Degree at Manhattan School of Music.
