Terrific New Theatre (TNT) continues its 32nd season with the "dramedy" "The Big Meal" opening Friday, November 3, 2017. The play, written by Dan LeFranc, was nominated for Outstanding Play in the 2012 Lucille Lortel Awards, and LeFranc was awarded The New York Times' Best Playwright Award in 2010. It runs until November 18, with shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sundays, November 5 and 12, at 2:30 p.m. The action takes place in a typical American restaurant and spans four generations in the lives of one family. It is filled with the sweet emotion of a first kiss to the sadness of a final goodbye with all the fun, laughter, and poignancy that comes when life happens. "The Big Meal" stars Edwin Booth, Darby Burgess, Al Cohn, Gracie Marble, Sam Oliver and Finn Steward - all newcomers to the TNT stage - alongside veteran TNT actors Holly Dikeman and Debbie Smith. Max Menaker appears as "The Server."

Birmingham native and Birmingham-Southern College alum David Strickland is at the helm as director. Strickland is an Associate Member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, and "The Big Meal" marks his first solo experience as a director in Birmingham, although he has assistant director and dramaturgy credits in regional theatres across the country. TNT's creative team is at it again with set design by Kevin Thomas and Greg Patterson and lighting design by Scott Littleton, with Kim Dean Davenport serving as stage manager. All work under the leadership of Tam DeBolt in her sophomore year as Artistic Director of Terrific New Theatre.
