THE MIDTOWN MEN Perform at NJTV Benefit Tonight

By:

NJTV, New Jersey's public television network, will host its first major benefit event at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) tonight, May 28, at 6pm. The benefit, co-chaired by Ralph Izzo (Chairman & CEO, PSE&G) and Josh Weston (Public Media NJ, Inc. chairman and former CEO, ADP) will honor two veteran producers, Steve Adubato, Ph.D (Caucus New Jersey, One-On-One with Steve Adubato) and Sandra King (Due Process) and Verizon for their contributions to public television. NJTV News' Managing Editor Mike Schneider will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

"NJTV has made great strides in a very short period of time, and has grown to a point we're proud to host this benefit celebration," said Weston. "Like public television itself, this will be an evening that will engage and entertain."

"Steve Adubato and Sandra King are local icons with series that have been associated with New Jersey public television for decades," said NJTV General Manager John Servidio. "It's fitting that their award-winning work in public affairs programming be recognized during NJTV's special event. "Verizon has been a cornerstone funder for us since our earliest days on the air," added Servidio. "We want to thank them for being a part of the critical support network that makes our local programming possible."

Benefit guests will enjoy a pre-performance reception and dinner followed by the awards and performance of The Midtown Men, four stars from the original Broadway cast of Jersey Boys*. The Midtown Men performance at NJPAC will be taped as a concert special for public television. The 90-minute show, recorded in high-definition, will be offered to public television stations to broadcast nationwide. The concert special will air in the NY Metropolitan area starting in December.

"The Midtown Men are a perfect match for public television," said NJTV General Manager John Servidio. "We're excited to give their performance a life beyond the NJTV Benefit to entertain audiences across the country."

After taking Broadway by storm in one of the biggest hits of all-time, the four originalJersey Boys cast members formed THE MIDTOWN MEN. Tony Award-winner Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard and Tony Award nominee J. Robert Spencer, now bring their unique style and sound to NJPAC in support of NJTV.

All are invited to join in the special evening as they celebrate music that defined the '60s from The Beatles and The Rascals to Motown and The Four Seasons, performing chart-toppers like "Can't Buy Me Love," "Up on the Roof," "Let's Hang On," "Happy Together," "California Dreamin'" and other nostalgic favorites.

Special reserved center orchestra seats for the Benefit are limited, so reservations are encouraged to be made promptly.

Performance-only tickets are available by calling 1-888-466-5722 (1-888-GO-NJPAC), at www.njpac.org, or at the Arts Center's box office at One Center Street in Downtown Newark. * Not a performance of, not affiliated with the show Jersey Boys
