Welcome to THE FRIDAY SIX: Q&As with your favorite Broadway stars. Want to know what hooked them to a career in the theater? Their dream roles? Their Broadway crushes? Read on!

In this week's edition, we caught up with Alan Campbell, who is starring as 'Sam Carmichael' in Mamma Mia!- currently playing at the Broadhurst Theatre.

What is the first Broadway show you ever saw?

The original LES MISERABLES. I was just taken by the whole epic nature of the experience and stage craft.

What is your most unique pre-show ritual?

I like to greet friends on the crew and production and poke my head in the dressing rooms of my fellow cast members. I get a lot of energy by seeing people who love what they do!

What is your most memorable "the show must go on" moment?

I got stuck on the lip of the Minskoff stage by an inoperable scrim in SUNSET BOULEVARD. I couldn't get off left or right and the orchestra just kept vamping. Luckily I had a pack of clove cigarettes in the show, so I did a lot of pacing, puffing and looking at my watch acting until the scrim finally lifted into the next scene

What is the one role you want to play before you die?

'King Arthur' in CAMELOT. Always loved the vulnerable, tragic and ultimately noble qualities of the character.

Who is your Broadway crush?

Oh lord. I gotta be careful here. I was in love with everyone of my female cast mates in Transport Groups "Hello Again". Rachel Bay Jones, Alexandra Silber, Elizabeth Stanley and Nikka Lanzarone. Really!
