THE BOOK OF MORMON Begins Performances Tonight
The Book of Mormon, the new Broadway musical from the creators of "South Park" and the co-creator of Avenue Q, begins performances tonight, Thursday, February 24 at 8:00 PM at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre (230 West 49th Street). Opening night is Thursday, March 24.
The Book of Mormon features book, music and lyrics by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone. Parker and Stone are the four-time Emmy Award-winning creators of Comedy Central's landmark animated series, "South Park." Tony Award-winner Lopez is co-creator of the long-running hit musical comedy, Avenue Q. The world premiere musical is choreographed by three-time Tony Award-nominee Casey Nicholaw (Monty Python's Spamalot, The Drowsy Chaperone) and directed by Nicholaw and Parker.
The Book of Mormon features set design by Scott Pask, costume design by Ann Roth, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt and sound design by Brian Ronan. Orchestrations are by Larry Hochman and Stephen Oremus. Music direction and vocal arrangements are by Stephen Oremus.
Monday through Saturday at 8:00 PM, with matinee on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
Tuesday through Thursday at 7:00 PM, Friday at 8:00 PM, Saturday at 2:00 and 8:00 PM, Sunday at 2:00 and 7:00 PM.
