Disney's musical TARZAN® completed its Holland engagement last Sunday at the Circus Theatre in Scheveningen, just outside of Amsterdam, after a record-setting 900 performances. The production, which opened in April 2007, welcomed an astonishing 1.6 million audience members over the course of its run, making it one of the top five most successful musicals in Holland. Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's MARY POPPINS will move into the Circus Theatre in April, 2010 for an extended run.

TARZAN® in Holland was co-presented by Stage Entertainment, Disney's licensed partner in Europe. The production was an immersive version of the musical, with audience members surrounded by scenic elements and performers acrobatically flying through the air. Guided by the creative team that developed the original Broadway production, this new interpretation of the show proved a critical and box office success and continues to play to packed houses in Hamburg, Germany, where the musical was recently awarded a ‘Style Award' by the German edition of OK! magazine.

TARZAN® is based on the story Tarzan of the Apes by Edgar Rice Burroughs and the Disney animated film and features music and lyrics by Phil Collins. The original cast recording of the Broadway production of TARZAN® was released by Walt Disney Records and is available in music stores nationwide and at online retailers including Amazon, iTunes and Disney Shopping. TARZAN® made its world premiere on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in May, 2006.

Disney Theatrical Productions (DTP), a division of Disney Theatrical Group, operates under the direction of Thomas Schumacher and is among the world's most successful commercial theatre enterprises.
