Super Bowl Sunday Special: Broadway Gets Patriotic with the National Anthem!

While sports-lovers are gearing up for football's biggest night, theatre people are busy sending positive thoughts to Tony winner Idina Menzel, who tonight will likely perform for an audience of more than 100 million. Menzel will join the ranks of such music legends as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Billy Joel, Ray Charles, Beyonce and many more, in singing the National Anthem for Super Bowl XLIX at University of Phoenix Stadium. Tune in tonight at 6:30 PM to cheer her on live! In preparation of her big performance, BroadwayWorld is celebrating all of the Broadway performers who have performed the song in the past, including a previous rendition by Menzel herself.
