Standalone THE FLASH Film Pushed Back

The release for THE FLASH standalone film is being pushed back, according to Variety.

Filming for the untitled film is being pushed back by Warner Bros. There hadn't been a an official greenlight or release date set, but production was expected to begin in March. The script is still being worked on, however, so the studio thinks it needs more time.

The issue with the pushback lies with Ezra Miller, who plays THE FLASH for the studio. Miller also stars int the "Fantastic Beasts" trilogy and filming for the third installment is set to be filmed in July, which could cause scheduling issues.

The Flash film will now most likely begin filming in late 2019 with a 2021 release date.

Warner Bros. signed John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein to direct the film last January after director Rick Famuyiwa left the film in 2016.
