The Artios Awards, which honor achievement in casting, honored the casting directors of Spamalot, Doubt and The Pillowman on November 1st. Ceremonies for the annual awards were held at the Grand Ballroom of Los Angeles' Beverly Hilton Hotel and the Penthouse Lobby of the American Airlines Theatre in New York.

The Artios Awards are chosen and presented by The Casting Society of America. In addition to the regular awards, an Apple Award was given to director Joe Mantello (The Odd Couple, Wicked, Assassins, Take Me Out) for his "significant contribution to the New York theatre community." John Papsidera and Wendy O'Brien, who handled the casting for the HBO movie adaptation of the stage hit Lackawanna Blues, were also presented with an Artios for Movie of the Week casting.
