Into the Woods opened on Broadway in 1987 and won 3 Tony Awards (Best Score, Best Book, Best Actress) and the Drama Desk Award for Best Musical. The show is a humorous kaleidoscoping of several well-known fairy tales written by The Brothers Grimm. The adventures of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel are woven together in this adult look at what happens in fairy tales when the characters do not live "happily ever after?"

Into the Woods will be directed by award-winning actress and director Shannon Kase. The musical director is Wayne Goodman, with choreography by Liz Andrews, costumes by Sylvia Gregory, lighting design by Ben Ray, and set design by Mike Barney. The show is sponsored by grants from The Advocates for the Arts and the City of Fairfield.
