On Saturday, January 13th and Sunday, January 14th, Virginia's Signature Theatre will unveil its new two-theater complex in Shirlington Village.

"As part of its grand opening celebration, invites you to experience the new building through performances, family activities, master classes, and backstage tours all weekend long.  Highlighted events include concerts by Tony nominees Emily Skinner and Euan Morton, and a preview performance of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Into the Woods," state Signature notes.

Other events will include a reading of Jerome Kitty's play about George Bernard Shaw and Mrs. Patrick Campbell, Dear Liar (with Sally Murphy as the famed actress), a cabaret with Helen Hayes Award-winner Will Gartshore and a reading of Joe Calarco's new play Holding Pattern.

All events are free and open to the public (and tickets are not required unless otherwise noted).  Events are 45 minutes long, unless otherwise noted.  For ticketed events, free ticket distribution starts at 11:30 AM the day of the event at Signature Theatre's new box office.  Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis with a limit of two (2) per person. 

Signature is a non-profit professional theatre dedicated to producing contemporary plays and musicals, reinventing classic musicals, and developing new work.  Specializing in the works of Stephen Sondheim, the theatre has won 50 Helen Hayes Awards in its 17-season history.  Eric Schaeffer is the theatre's artistic director.

Signature's new building is located in Shirlington Village at 2800 S. Stafford St, Arlington, VA.
