ShenanArts Announces Auditions for HAIRPSRAY, 6/12 & 6/13
ShenanArts is ecstatic to announce auditions for the first production in our new performance venue! We are honored to present the Virginia-State premiere of the recent Broadway smash-hit musical, HAIRSPRAY. Directed and Designed by Colton Berry with Choreography by Lindsey Walters and Music Direction by Jane Volke, this production is sure to be a plus-sized hit.
Auditions will be held at 5PM, June 12th, 2010 at the old "Books-a-Million" space in the Staunton Mall.
Please prepare at least a verse and chorus of a pop, rock, R&B or gospel song that shows off your voice. Selections from HAIRSPRAY are accepted but not preferred. Please no other musical theatre. Be prepared to dance. Cold readings will take place at call-backs (the following day, 6/13). Bring any conflicts from June 14-August 22. Rehearsal conflicts will play heavily on casting.
HAIRSPRAY begins rehearsals in June 2010 and runs August 12-22, 2010.
Rehearsals will be at least three times a week, depending on role, and will last from three to four hours each.
