Ken Davenport, producer of the Off-Broadway hits Altar Boyz and The Awesome 80s Prom, will present My First Time, beginning July 12th at New World Stages.

The play is described in press notes as "a new play in the style of The Vagina Monologues featuring four actors in hysterical and heartbreaking stories about first sexual experiences written by real people . . . just like you...In 1998, a decade before blogging began, a website was created that allowed people to anonymously share their own true stories about their 'First Time.'  The website became an instant phenomenon as over 40,000 stories poured in from around the globe that were silly, sweet, absurd, funny, heterosexual, homosexual, awkward, shy, sexy and everything in between.  And now, these stories and the unique characters in them are all brought to life in My First Time."

Casting will be announced shortly.

Writer/director Davenport is currently represented Off-Broadway and around the country by the 2005 Outer Critics Circle Award Winner for Best Musical, Altar Boyz, which he co-conceived and produced, and The Awesome 80s Prom, which he created and directed.  His Broadway and National Tour management credits include My Fair Lady, Grease, Show Boat, Candide, Ragtime, Parade (workshop), Jekyll & Hyde, Chicago, Cinderella, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Gypsy, among others.  Davenport taught "Acting as a Business" for AOL and was the Director of Creative Development for NETworks.  He received the Acclaim Screenwriting Award for his TV pilot, "I.C.A." A member of the BMI Librettist workshop, he is currently developing a musical version of the film Somewhere in Time for Broadway.  More at www.DavenportTheatrical.com
