Tony Award-nominee Sandy Duncan will open a new window in the title role of the Barrington Stage Company's upcoming production of Mame, which will run as a staged concert version at the Pittsfield, MA theatre from October 4th through 15th.

Duncan has stepped in for Donna McKechnie, who was previously announced to have withdrawn from the show due to other commitments with Over Here! in London and with promoting her new memoir.

Duncan's career has encompassed plays and musicals, as well as both stage and film. She received Tony Award nominations for her work in Canterbury Tales, The Boy Friend and the 1979 revival of Peter Pan. Other Broadway credits My One and Only, Love Is a Time of Day and most recently, Chicago. Film and TV credits include Never Again, The Swan Princess, "Roots" and Star Spangled Girl.

The Story of a boy's loving but complex relationship with his unconventional aunt, Mame features music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and a book by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee (who adapted it from their play, which was inspired by Patrick Dennis' 1955 fictionalized memoir).  The original 1966 production of the musical won numerous Tonys, including ones for stars Angela Lansbury and Bea Arthur.

Full casting will be announced.
