SYTYCD's Mary Murphy Joins BURN THE FLOOR, 12/22; Show to Close January 10
The producers of BURN THE FLOOR announced today that Mary Murphy of FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance" will now perform in Broadway's sizzling dance show from December 22nd through January 10th, joining current stars Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kym Johnson of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" on stage for the holidays. BURN THE FLOOR will now end its Broadway engagement on January 10th. We are thrilled and proud to have broken the Longacre Theatre's box office record and are pleased to announce that the World Tour begins late February 2010, including 30 U.S. cities."Mary Murphy is best known for her enthusiastic and emotional judging style on "So You Think You Can Dance," gaining notoriety and earning fans as the "Queen of Scream." She is a US Ballroom Dance Champion and an Austrian National 10-dance and Ballroom Champion. In addition to owning Champion Ballroom Academy in San Diego, Mary is a partner in the "Chance to Dance" program in the San Diego area school district, helping provide dance classes to children unable to afford lessons. She will be partnered with Ballroom Champion Vaidas Skimelis. BURN THE FLOOR currently stars Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kym Johnson. Kym was this season's professional champion on "Dancing with the Stars," paired with winner Donny Osmond.
