Royal Family Productions will begin the 2014-15 season with their Emerging Artist Program, with a benefit presentation of Cheesecake Girl, with music and lyrics by Genya Ravan, book and direction by RFP's Chris Henry and musical direction by Daniel A Weiss. Selections of the Cheesecake Girl will be presented on October 5th & 6th at 7PM at Royal Family's home in Times Square at The American Globe Theatre located at 145 West 46th Street. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by visiting royalfamilyproductions.org or by calling Ovation Tickets at (866)811-4111.

Before Goldie and The Gingerbreads, the first successful all-female rock band in 1962, Genya Ravan was Genyusha Zelkovicz, a young girl fleeing Nazi-occupied Poland with her family in search of a hopeful start in America. After passing through Ellis Island and moving to the Lower East Side of New York City, Genyusha, now "Goldie", faces grief, poverty, abuse, and loss of identity. With no one to turn to, she forges her own path.

Cheesecake Girl takes us through the harrowing events of a unique rock star's beginning, the wild ride that would shape her career, and an impromptu performance that changes her life forever.

Along with Genya Ravan, Cheesecake Girl stars RFP's 2014-2015 Emerging Artist Kristin Nemecek as Goldie. The cast also includes Charlotte Cohn (Bway's La Boheme, Handle With Care) and Victor Verhaeghe (RFP's Four Last Things, HBO's "Boardwalk Empire"). The remaining cast and creative team will be announced shortly.

RFP's Emerging Artist Program is in its 4th year, the Emerging Artist Program has been developed to advance the next generation of artists who are at the start of their NYC careers and display potential and talent in line with our mission. RFP will help them explore their creative identity in a way that is challenging, yet will foster their growth by nurturing strong ties between themselves and more established artists.
