MSG Entertainment (MSGE) announced today the official kick-off to the holiday season with "Christmas in August" in celebration of the 2013 Radio City Christmas Spectacular production, which will feature a breathtaking new scene that will transform the Great Stage into a glistening winter wonderland. On Tuesday, August 13 at 11 a.m. at Radio City Music Hall, fans will be treated to a 'Spectacular' summer snow storm that will celebrate the production's new "Snow" scene as The Rockettes and Santa Claus unveil a one-of-a-kind Christmas Spectacular themed ice sculpture and distribute icy Christmas treats for fans throughout the city amidst the New York summer heat.

The day begins when Radio City's Santa Claus arrives at the Music Hall from the North Pole and brings with him a much needed arctic chill. Santa will be joined by ice sculptors from Okamoto Studios who will carve a large one-of-a-kind ice sculpture live under the Radio City marquee. The Rockettes, along with Santa, the animals from the Living Nativity and John Foxx from WPLJ, will help unveil the finished masterpiece during a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Following the ice sculpture unveil at Radio City, 'Christmas in August' will make the city even cooler for New Yorkers. The Rockettes have teamed up with popular New York City-based ice pop company, People's Pops, to create a "Rox Pop," a special cranberry-apple flavored ice pop inspired by The Rockettes and the Christmas Spectacular. The all-natural ice pops will be distributed for free to fans throughout the city on both a Christmas Spectacular-themed food truck and an iconic, red double decker Gray Line New York bus with The Rockettes at various locations, who will share their Christmas spirit. The Christmas Spectacular food truck will be the center of the New York summer snow storm as it blows snow throughout its journey around the city. Fans will be able to track the truck and the Gray Line New York bus' times on Facebook at facebook.com/radiocitychristmas andradiocitychristmas.com/ncl as they travel to numerous locations including Radio City Music Hall, Bryant Park, Madison Square Park, the Beacon Theatre, Union Square, and Park Slope.

Rox Pops will also be available for sale at People's Pops retail store in Park Slope, Brooklyn beginning August 14 through October.

Fans can visit radiocitychristmas.com/ncl to view a full list of event locations and to enter to win the first gifts of the Christmas season, including tickets to the 2013 Radio City Christmas Spectacular and the grand prize, a two-day cruise for a family of four on Norwegian Cruise Line's new Norwegian Breakaway, the largest ship to home port year-round in Manhattan. The Rockettes have been named the godmothers of Norwegian Breakaway and fans can join two Rockettes onboard the first sailing of each month, where they can take part in special dance and fitness classes, photo opportunities, meet and greet sessions and more. The sweepstakes will begin Tuesday, August 13 and will continue through Friday, August 23.
