On Monday, June 1, Resonance Ensemble's (Eric Parness, Artistic Director; Rachel Reiner, Managing Director) Chairman of the Board Dori Thompson and the Resonance Ensemble Board of Trustees will celebrate and honor award winning playwright Arthur Giron. The reception and silent auction will begin at 6PM (reading beginning at 7PM) at Theatre Row's Lion Theatre (410 West 42nd Street).

Acclaimed playwright, Mr. Giron, has been produced by the Resonance Ensemble. They are now dedicating a night to reminisce about his previous accomplishments and also to introduce his new play Memories of Our Women.

Arthur Giron is a celebrated fixture in New York theatre scene, and was one of the co-founders of The Ensemble Studio Theater. Throughout his career, he has been nominated for an Emmy, the L.A. Dramalogue award for his play, Becoming Memories and the Galileo prize for writing for Emilie's Voltaire. He was also honored by Pope John Paul II for his play Edith Stein. Resonance Ensemble proudly produced his play The Coffee Trees, a world premiere inspired by Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard. The evening will consist of several scenes from Mr. Giron's plays as well as his new play, Memories of Our Women.

Cast includes: Alberto Bonilla ("All My Children"), AnaMaria Correa ("Law & Order") , Elizabeth A. Davis ("Fringe", of Mice and Men), Angelina Fiordellisi ( Broadway's Zorba, Where the Heart Is), Annie Henk (Entre Nos), Jana Robbins (Broadway's Gypsy, Crimes of the Heart) Gordon Stanley (Flamingo Court, Broadway's Cabaret), Sarah Stockton ("3lbs"), Molly Wright Stuart (Volume of Smoke), and Edgar Weinstock.

Now in its 8th season, Resonance Ensemble began in the 2001-2002 as an ensemble that creates new work inspired by classic plays. Their mission is to create performances that are "theatrical" and that "resonate" while still keeping in tune with the "timeless" and "classical" version of the play. Resonance Ensemble also makes it their goal to keep the classics alive. Since the start of the company, the Resonance Ensemble has taken classics such as The Importance of Being Earnest, The Tempest and The Cherry Orchard, bringing Oscar Wilde, William Shakespeare and Anton Chekhov into the world in new and innovative ways. Their current production is Reflections: An Evening of Short Plays.
