Opera Orlando has released first look footage of THE MERRY WIDOW, Franz Lehár's effervescent operetta playing two performances only at Steinmetz Hall at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Conducted by Noam Aviel leading the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and stage directed by Grant Preisser, the original production features dancers from the Orlando Ballet and follows the wealthy widow Hanna Glawari as scheming ambassadors, rampant rendezvous, and an old flame conspire to determine who she will marry next. The production offers old world glamour, rom-com hijinks, catchy melodies, and even the can-can.

The star-studded cast is headlined by soprano Sarah Joy Miller, recently seen in HBO's The Gilded Age, in the title role of Hanna Glawari. She is joined by Grammy Award-winning baritone Gabriel Preisser as Count Danilo, Andy Papas as Baron Zeta, Alexandra Kzeski as Valencienne, and Adrian Kramer as Camille.

THE MERRY WIDOW is sung in English with supertitles in English and Spanish and runs approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes with intermission. Performances take place Friday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 26 at 2 p.m. For tickets, contact the Bill & Mary Darden Box Office at 407-358-6603 or visit Dr. Phillips Center online. Steinmetz Hall is located at 445 South Magnolia Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801.
