Opening night of Red Hot & New: A Songwriters' and Singers' Soiree at Ido Sushi New York
Starting Thursday October 21st at 8:30PM Red Hot & New the newest weekly party to hit the theater and cabaret scene opens with a bang.

Manhattan's most acclaimed theater and cabaret composers and lyricists will share the spotlight with some of her newest up and coming songwriters. Featuring some of their favorite singers as well as other special guests. Then you'd better bring your books because the microphone opens to the audience where songwriters and singers alike have the chance to perform their favorite songs until closing.

This week we are proud to present our featured composer Fred Barton a music producer, orchestrator/arranger, pianist-singer-actor, and theatrical musical director, having worked on Broadway, off-Broadway, in cabaret, symphonic music and television for thirty years.  In cabaret, Fred was the original arranger/pianist for the acclaimed long-running revue Forbidden Broadway (Tony Award, multiple Drama Desk Awards), wrote and performed the book, music & lyrics for Miss Gulch Returns! (Back StageWhoop Dee Doo! (Drama Desk Awards), Burly-Q, and wrote and performed in The Two Svengalis (all on CD on RCA, DRG, and Original Cast Records labels.)  On Broadway, in LA and on tour, he conducted Anthony Quinn in Zorba, Joel Grey in Cabaret, Cy Coleman's City of Angels, and Robert Goulet in Camelot, and played in the New York pits of The Will Rogers Follies, Grease (Revival 1), Guys & Dolls (Nathan Lane & Faith Prince), and Ruthless!  As an actor he has also appeared in the Delaware Theatre Company's Tomfoolery (twice), as Bert Healey in Annie (Austin Musical Theatre), in I Love My Wife and as Miss Gulch/Wicked Witch in The Wizard Of Oz (both at Theatre-By-The-Sea.)  He hosted the Sydney Cabaret Convention in 1999, and has appeared on numerous television shows including The Tonight Show (with Johnny Carson). He is currently Senior Orchestrator of the Indianapolis Pops Orchestra, and his orchestrations of pop and show music are played by symphonic orchestras around the U.S. and Canada.  He is currently Musical Supervisor of the internationally broadcast hit TV show Olivia.  He orchestrated and conducted the Emmy-Award-winning TV show Wonder Pets! for Nickelodeon, having also served as Associate Composer for the Emmy-Award-winning The Magic Schoolbus (still broadcast worldwide) and the A.C.E.-winning Eureeka's Castle, and Michael Moore's The Awful Truth.  He wrote music and lyrics for the Universal Studios Tour's Creature From the Black Lagoon musical, and his song "Pour Me A Man" is song regularly in cabarets and nightclubs on three continents.  Fred has produced numerous big band, show and vocal CDs.  See www.fredbarton.com for more.

Dan Marshall- a native of Sandusky, OH. He has worked extensively as a performer Off-Broadway, in Regional Theatre and several national tours.  Has contributed book and lyrics for two musicals, THE SUICIDE CLUB (Book/Music: Julian Blackmore)  and CHRISTMAS CAROLYN(co-written with James Yates, Music: Ok Kyun Kang) ; as well as having written several (as yet) un-produced screenplays. He is the Associate Artistic Director of Mercury Summer Stock Theatre in Cleveland.
