This fall, over twenty of off-off-Broadway's leading artists will participate in the first annual "Producing off-off-Broadway" Seminar. The three-day-long event, held at the Players Theatre (115 Macdougal St.) from Friday, November 4 to Sunday, November 6, is the first of its kind to focus exclusively on the unique logistical, creative, and financial challenges of producing non-commercial theatre.

The weekend event is intended for anyone interested or working in off-off-Broadway theatre. Prospective and early career producers will be introduced to all aspects of the process of shepherding a show from initial idea to opening night. Working producers will be able to improve their craft and sharpen their skills by learning from some of the most established producers and companies in off-off-Broadway while trading ideas and networking with their peers and colleagues. Those hoping to find a producer for their show will learn what to look for in a producer and meet potential candidates for the job.

Featured panel topics include "Working with Actors Equity," "Fundraising, Donors, Grants, and Sponsored Artistships," "Producing for the Festivals," "Legal Issues Involved in Producing Downtown," "PR & Marketing" and "Organizing Commercial Moves." Several major companies' histories will be profiled as well.

Confirmed presenters include Elena K. Holy, Producing Director of the Present Company / FringeNYC; Hugh Hysell, President of HHC Marketing Chad Beckim and Molly Pearson, Artistic Directors of Partial Comfort Productions; Ted Rounsaville, General Manager of Edge Theatre Company; Cara Reichel, Artistic Director of Prospect Theatre Company; Matt Schicker, Vice President & Producer for Gallery Players; Joe Larue, Artistic Director of Tobacco Bar Theatre Company; Ron Lasko of Spin Cycle; and Eva Price, Producer of the recent off-Broadway play Joy. Additional presenters are being confirmed and will be announced soon.

"Producing off-off Broadway" is being organized and will be hosted by John Pinckard, one of the producers of this year's Fringe Festival hit, Silence! the Musical. Seating is limited; admission is $265 for the entire weekend, which includes two cocktail events. For further information or to register, call 212.340.1066 or visit www.producingoffoff.com.
