The newest episode of Zach Galifianakis' parody talk show on Funny or Die, Between Two Ferns, featured surprise guest President Barack Obama. The President appeared on the show to promote his website, healthcare.gov, to younger viewers to encourage them to sign up before the March 31st deadline. While on the show, The President and Galifianakis shared "awkward" moments, such as when Obama said running for President a 3rd time would be a bad idea saying, "You know, if I ran a third time, it'd sort of be like doing a third 'Hangover' movie."

The episode was taped two weeks ago, and the show's creators at Funny or Die had to keep it a secret until they released it early Tuesday morning.

Between Two Ferns satirizes public-access television and has episodes that have been viewed over 30 million times. The show has hosted many celebrities, including Natalie Portman, Jennifer Aniston, and Jon Hamm. In this off-color show, Galifianakis can get pretty outrageous, like when he discussed Charlize Theron's thighs or when he asked Natalie Portman for her phone number.

This appearance follows a string of the President's efforts to reach out to the American public. He previously slow-jammed the news with Jimmy Fallon, held a Reddit AMA, hosted Google Hangouts, and appeared on The View. The President's senior adviser and chief communications strategist, Dan Pfeiffer said, "We have to find ways to break through, this is essentially an extension of the code we have been trying to crack for seven years now."
