Pittsburgh CLO Announces Auditions for Young Washington 10/25

Pittsburgh CLO is holding auditions for singers/actors (all types) for the Gallery of Heroes touring production of the musical Young Washington.
Who: Four male and two female singer/actors ages 18 to 35.Where: Auditions will be held at the Pittsburgh CLO Academy, 130 CLO Academy Way, 8th Floor. When: Monday, October 25, 2010 - 5:00-8:00 p.m.Interested individuals must call to schedule an audition time. Rehearsals run January 3-7 and the performances run January 10-May 13, 2011. Both rehearsals and performances are in the daytime.Audition Requirements:
Actors
· Age 18 and older
· Headshot and resume
· 2 musical theater songs in contrasting styles (16 bars of one up-tempo and 16 bars of one ballad)
· 1-minute contemporary monologue
· Must be available during the day Monday - Friday from January through May
· Non-equity only
The 2011 Gallery of Heroes school tour will offer local actors the opportunity to perform in Young Washington. The tour will run from January through May 2011.
Through dramatic sketches and musical vignettes, Pittsburgh CLO's Gallery of Heroes program takes its 50-minute mini-musicals to area schools to educate and enlighten students about great historical figures. Young Washington introduces students to George Washington, Sally Fairfax, and Christopher Gist, among others. The Gallery of Heroes program offers an entertaining alternative to traditional lectures and books. The book for Young Washington was written by Jason Coll and Andrew Masich, with music and lyrics by Jason Coll.Audition applications are available online at www.pittsburghCLO.org.
