Last week, 1967 alumna and 15-time Tony Award-winning Broadway producer Jamie deRoy received an Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University. Check out photos below!
A Pittsburgh native who studied drama at Carnegie Mellon, Jamie has built a legacy as a Broadway and Off-Broadway producer, performer and arts advocate. Over the course of her career she has co-produced more than 160 Broadway and off-Broadway productions and earned 15 Tony Awards, along with numerous Drama Desk, Drama League and other industry honors.
Additional 2026 recipients include: Jensen Huang, Founder and CEO of NVIDIA, who will be the Commencement Keynote Speaker as well as receive a Honorary Doctor of Science and Technology; Thomas J. Sargent, a Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences to receive a Honorary Doctor of Science and Technology; and Samuel John Hazo, Founder of the International Poetry Forum to receive a Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters.
