Photo Review: Josh Groban Stage, Screen, and Symphony tour

We were fortunate to head back to the Acrisure Amphitheater last weekend, this time to hear Tony®, EMMY®, and five-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated singer, songwriter, actor, and philanthropist Josh Groban take the stage for his “Stage, Screen, and Symphony” tour in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The show spotlights music from Broadway alongside his brand-new album, Cinimatic, performed with the Grand Rapids Symphony.
“I’ve always been drawn to music that tells a story, whether it’s on the Broadway stage, in film, or a great symphonic arrangement,” Groban explains. “This tour is a chance for me to bring all of those worlds together while sharing many of the songs that have inspired me throughout my career. Performing this music alongside some of the best orchestras in the world each night is going to be incredibly special.” In true Broadway fashion, it was presented in 2 Acts.
Act One featured Broadway songs including: "Pure Imagination", "What I Did for Love", "Old Devil Moon", "The Barber and His Wife", "Dust & Ashes", "On My Own", "All I Ask of You", with a special guest duet with Samia Posadas. "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)“, and "Evermore".
Act Two featured songs from the film: "As Time Goes By", "Remember Me", "The Red Violin Caprices: Main Theme & Variation", "Cinema Paradiso", "Brucia la terra", "Falling Slowly", "Send In the Clowns", "Can You Feel the Love Tonight", and "Skyfall.
The Encore featured a song from BOTH Musical Theatre AND Film: "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". If you are a fan of Broadway and the screen, and hearing your local symphony, this is the tour and show for you!
