The Guthrie is pleased to present Emigrant Theater's production of Blue Door by Tanya Barfield and directed by Jessica Finney.

"Left along by his wife after refusing to join the Million Man March, an African American math professor watches as the ghosts of his ancestors arrive and shatter the silence of his insomnia, drawing him into a spiral of history, a crisis of identity and culture, and a powerful exploration of what it means to be black, then and now," explain press notes.

Blue Door stars David Eulus Wiles as Lester, Eric Avery as Simon/Rex/Jesse. The creative team includes Geoff Wold (Lighting Design), Katharine Horowitz (Sound Design), Erica Zaffarano (Scenic Design), Lori Opsal (Costume Design), Allana Olson (Stage Manager)

Blue Door opens January 18 and plays through January 27, 2008 in the Dowling Studio. Tickets are priced from $22 to $34 and are on sale through the Guthrie Box Office at 612.377.2224, toll-free 877.44.STAGE and online at www.guthrietheater.org
